The Drava Cycle Route is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular and popular cycling routes in Europe. Our journey begins in Dobbiaco, in the heart of the Alta Pusteria valley, right where the Drava River has it’s source. Following the course of the river, you will cycle through lush valleys and stunning alpine landscapes before crossing the border into Austria and reaching the sunny town of Lienz. The route then continues towards Spittal an der Drau and the lively town of Villach. From here, the journey continues southwards, returning to Italy through Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a border region where Italian, Slovenian and Austrian cultures and traditions meet and intertwine. Cycling through the Carnic Alps and picturesque mountain landscapes, you will gradually begin your descent towards the plains and, finally, the Adriatic Sea. The final part of the tour takes you to Grado, an elegant and lively seaside town, where the alpine scenery finally gives way to the gentle breeze and vibrant colours of the Adriatic. An enchanting itinerary crossing two countries and an incredible variety of landscapes, from the mountains of the Dolomites all the way to the sea.
