India by Bike – From the Coromandel Coast to the Backwaters of Kerala

An extraordinary cycling journey to discover the most authentic side of southern India, among ancient civilizations, monumental temples, traditional villages and tropical landscapes. Starting from Chennai, overlooking the Bay of Bengal, we will cycle along the beautiful Coromandel Coast, crossing the historic lands of Tamil Nadu before reaching the lush hills of the Western Ghats and the legendary backwaters of Kerala. Covering approximately 950 km, this itinerary combines sporting adventure with cultural immersion, taking us through UNESCO World Heritage Sites, fascinating temple cities, historic colonial quarters and fertile plains dotted with rice paddies and palm trees. We will discover the colonial elegance of Pondicherry, the magnificence of the Dravidian temples of Chidambaram, Tanjore and Madurai, and the historic mansions of the Chettinad region, renowned for their unique architectural and culinary traditions. Our cycling journey will then lead us towards the mountainous landscapes of Kerala, through forests and tea and spice plantations, before descending towards the western coast, where canals, lagoons and timeless villages create the unmistakable scenery of the backwaters. The journey will conclude in Fort Kochi, amid colonial architecture, multicultural atmospheres and reminders of centuries of trade and cultural encounters.
Designed for active and curious travellers, this 14-day tour offers a rich and engaging experience, supported by a dedicated support vehicle to make the journey more comfortable and enjoyable. An adventure on two wheels that allows us to experience India from a unique perspective, following the rhythm of the road and discovering, day after day, the extraordinary diversity of its landscapes and cultures.
