The Carinthian lakes tour will take you to the most beautiful and best known lakes in the region. It is a particularly family-friendly route, mostly flat and mostly following cycle paths away from traffic. This bike tour offers plenty of time to discover and explore the destinations and, of course, to enjoy a leisurely swim.
Carinthian lakes attract many visitors because of their warm waters, beautiful lidos with large sunbathing areas and several small bathing areas which are accessible free of charge. The program includes the most famous lakes, such as Ossiacher See, Faaker See and Wörthersee. What can you expect? a cycling holiday that will also delight the little ones!
The stages mostly develop on cycle paths, often directly along the lake shore. The route is mostly flat. The short cycling distances leave plenty of time to explore the landscape. Tour suitable for families.

Itinerary
Day 1: Villach
You will arrive at your hotel in Villach. Parking spaces available close to the hotel.
Day 2: Villach – Ossiacher See – Villach
(ca. 45 km)
The first bike stage takes you from Villach to the Ossiacher See and around the lake. Along the way there are several family-friendly attractions such as the Familywald Ossiach adventure park or the Gerlitzen Bergbahnen cable car. If you wish and they are available, you can also board one of the boats, for example the boat from Ossiach to Steindorf and visit Slow Trail Bleistätter Moor. Otherwise you can use the free access to the lake to cool off. A pleasant cycling day for the whole family!
Day 3: Villach – Faaker See

Today's destination is lake Faaker See. The warm bathing lake offers many opportunities for water sports such as pedal boats or kayaking. At Faaker See you can also embark on an exciting family hike in the footsteps of Woraun, a dragon who invites you on an adventure in the dragon forest.
Day 4: Faaker See – Wörthersee/Pörtschach

From Faaker See you will continue on to Carinthia's most famous lake, the Wörthersee. The tour will take you a short way along the river Drau. At Wörthersee there are well-known seaside resorts which invite you to stroll along the shore, where there is always something for young visitors. If you wish, you can extend your ride to Klagenfurt, which lies on the eastern shore of the lake. Here you will find three beautiful attractions such as Minimundus, the small town on Lake Wörthersee, the reptile house and the planetarium. To return to the hotel you can take the boat or the train (tickets not included).
Day 5: Wörthersee/Pörtschach, day off
The Wörthersee Card, which you will receive at your hotel, includes numerous options from which you can choose which activity to do on your day off, or you can relax on the beach.
Day 6: Wörthersee/Pörtschach – Villaco
(ca. 28 km)
Today you will get back on your bikes. The last stage takes you back to Villach on the Drau cycle path along the river. Along the way it is worth stopping off at the Silbersee, Villach's swimming lake. You can stroll through the old part of town and visit the sights, such as the relief model of Carinthia, which allows you to see the entire route you have cycled.
Day 7: Villach
Tour end and departure from Villach or possibility of extension.

By car: Villach is easily accessible on the motorways A2, A10 or A11 (depending on the point of origin).
By train: Good train connections to Villach. Timetable on: www.deutschebahn.de, www.oebb.at, www.trenitalia.com.
By plane: Airport Klagenfurt, Salzburg or Ljubljana. There are good train connections from all these cities to your starting point.
