Day 2: Brixen/Bressanone - Kaltern/Caldaro or Mendel/Mendola ascent approx. 320 m, descent approx. 465 m / approx. 60 km

This stage takes you from Brixen to Caldaro, weaving through breathtaking landscapes and places rich in history and culture. Departing from Brixen, you ride through the lush Eisack Valley, a vibrant green corridor famed for its rolling vineyards and Alpine charm. The journey brings you to Bolzano, the lively heart of South Tyrol, where Italian flair meets German tradition in a fascinating cultural mix. As you follow the scenic South Tyrolean Wine Road, you’ll pass through postcard-perfect villages and ascend toward the Mendel Pass —where towering peaks and untouched nature create a dramatic backdrop to your ride. Your day ends in Caldaro, a gem known for its serene lake and world-class wines—the perfect reward after an unforgettable day on two wheels.

Day 3: Kaltern/Caldaro or Mendel/Mendola – Tonale Pass - Ponte di Legno ascent approx. 1750 m, descent approx. 995 m / approx. 70 km

The route begins by taking the funicular up to the Mendola Pass, where your cycling tour towards Ponte di Legno will start. Along the way, you will be able to admire the Val di Non, famous for its fruit orchards (especially apples, with spectacular blossoms in May), its many medieval castles, and the breathtaking views of the Brenta Dolomites. You will cross the Tonale Pass and end the day in Ponte di Legno, the final destination of the tour.

Day 4: Ponte di Legno – Darfo Boario Terme ascent approx. 35 m, descent approx. 1065 m / approx. 70 km

Today’s journey will take you to discover the Camonica Valley, a UNESCO MaB Biosphere Reserve, famous for its ancient rock carvings (over 300,000 preserved across seven archaeological parks). You will also visit impressive medieval fortresses that tell stories of past eras. The destination of this stage of the journey is Darfo Boario Terme, renowned for its thermal springs. A perfect blend of nature, history, and well-being.

Day 5: Darfo Boario Terme – Bergamo ascent approx. 420 m, descent approx. 400 m / approx. 70 km

From Darfo Boario Terme, you cycle to the picturesque Lake Iseo, admiring its tranquil waters and the surrounding mountains. The route continues through the Cavallina Valley along the shores of the pre-Alpine lakes of Gaiano and Endine, dotted with ancient villages, medieval towers, and castles. The arrival in Bergamo features a ride through the historic old town of Città Alta, with its ancient city walls (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and characteristic medieval streets, thus concluding a stage rich in nature, culture, history, and tradition.

Day 6: Bergamo – Milano ascent approx. 135 m, descent approx. 245 m / approx. 90 km

The cycling tour begins in Bergamo and reaches the Serio River, its namesake natural park, and the castles of Cavernago and Malpaga. Following the cycle paths along the Serio River, you arrive at the medieval village of Cologno al Serio, entirely surrounded by walls and an ancient moat fed by spring waters. The route then crosses a stretch of the agricultural Po Valley, until reaching the Adda River. The Adda is crossed via a picturesque pedestrian and cycle footbridge that leads to the Naviglio Martesana, a historic hydraulic work dotted with villages, locks, and structures to which Leonardo da Vinci also contributed. The Naviglio Martesana and its cycle path lead directly into the heart of Milan, following the historic canals that run through the city and connect it to its commercial and artistic past.

Ecofriendly option by train: Take a train from Innsbruck to Brixen/Bressanone. Arriving from the south over Verona and Bozen/Bolzano to Brixen/Bressanone. By car: On the Brenner/Brennero motorway (A22) to Brixen/Bressanone or over the Felbertauernstraße to Lienz in Eastern Tyrol (Austria) and then on further through the valley Pustertal/Val Pusteria on the SS49 to Brixen/Bressanone.
