Day 1: Arrival
You will arrive at your hotel in Villach. Parking spaces available close to the hotel.
Day 2: Villach – Seeboden
(approx. 48 km)
The tour begins heading north to Lake Millstatt, which is entirely surrounded by a cycle path. You will discover the unspoilt southern shore, where there are no roads and you can enjoy breathtaking views of the lake in many places. Along the way, you will pass through typical Carinthian villages such as Döbriach, which lies directly on the lake shore. Along the north shore, you will cycle partly directly along the lake to Seeboden, your destination for today.
Day 3: Lake Millstätter See – Weissensee – Feistritz an der Drau/Spittal an der Drau
(approx. 70 km)
Today you start at Lake Millstatt. From here you cycle through the Drau Valley to Greifenburg and from there it‘s uphill to Lake Weissensee. If you don‘t feel confident enough to do this, you can avoid the climb with a transfer (included). Once you arrive at Lake Weissensee, you will continue by ferry (included). After arriving, you will cycle on to your destination for the day in the Drau Valley.
Day 4: Feistritz an der Drau/Spittal an der Drau - Faaker See
(approx. 45 km)
Today, you will travel south from the Drau Valley. Your destination today is Lake Faaker See. It is the emerald among the Carinthian lakes, not very large, but very warm and turquoise like the Caribbean. On the way, you will pass typical Carinthian villages and Villach again. Once you arrive at your destination, you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the lake.
Day 5: Faakersee – Klagenfurt
(approx. 45 km)
In the morning, you start at Lake Faaker See and then cycle a short distance along the Drau River towards Lake Wörthersee. Before Velden am Wörthersee, you branch off into the idyllic Keutschacher Seental valley. It runs parallel to Lake Wörthersee and captivates with several small charming lakes that lie like a string of pearls along your route. At the end lies the provincial capital Klagenfurt as your destination. The old town still has many Renaissance buildings and a southern flair. Small bars and shops round off the atmosphere. Culture lovers should visit the Museum of Modern Art, while those interested in history should visit the newly designed Carinthia Museum. Those who prefer to view things from above should definitely climb the steps to the Stadtpfarrturm tower.
Day 6: Klagenfurt - Ossiacher See - Villach
(approx. 50 km )
The last stage of your cycle tour begins heading north again. From Klagenfurt, you cycle towards Feldkirchen. Shortly before reaching it, you turn off towards Lake Ossiach, Carinthia‘s third largest lake after Lake Wörthersee and Lake Milstattersee. Idyllically nestled in the surrounding mountains, you are greeted by inviting bathing resorts and the romantic Ossiach Abbey. The dark green colour of the water is something special. From here, you return to Villach, the final destination of your cycle tour.
